MOTORBOAT STEERSMAN
The motorboat helmsman patent course includes intensive, one-day theoretical and practical training. The training concludes with a state examination. During the course, comprehensive knowledge required for the exam is provided. Additionally, the trainee receives materials before the training begins, aimed at organizing their knowledge to emphasize the most significant practical issues and more challenging elements during the classes.
Organizational Information
the training lasts one day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a lunch break;
the theoretical training is conducted in a lecture hall;
the practical training takes place in the port area of Puck on a hybrid boatof the RIB typemeasuring 4.70 m in length, equipped with a YAMAHA 50 HP outboard motor. or on a motor yachtMerry Fisher 635with a stationary YANMAR 88 HP engine;
an exam is conducted immediately after the training;
Fees
appointment reservation: 100% of the course price
exam fee: 250 PLN;
For students under 26 years old, a 50% discount on the exam fee and certificate issuance.
Exam - motorboat helmsman
knowledge test (75 multiple choice questions, 90 minutes) and maneuvering;
a motorboat helmsman license can be obtained by a person who has completed the 14th year of life and passed the exam on the required knowledge and skills.
Permissions - motorboat helmsman
operation of motorboats on inland waters;
operation of motorboats with a hull length of up to 12m on marine waters within 2 nautical miles from shore, during daytime.
Practical training - motorboat helmsman
maneuvering a motor yacht, approaching/departing from the dock, straight course and circling, 'man overboard' alarm, anchoring and mooring;
leading the crew and working as a crew member;
basic seamanship tasks.
Theoretical training - motorboat helmsman
construction of motor yachts, engines and propulsion systems;
rules for operating personal watercraft;
basics of navigation: markings, maps, and guides;
water rescue;
capsizing of yachts, breakdowns or accidents, 'man overboard', first aid;
meteorology;
navigational aids;
protection of waters against pollution;
basic rules of the road on marine and inland waterways.
