YACHT MASTER MARINE

During the training, we focus primarily on practical knowledge and skills, as well as preparing for independent sailing of a yacht in marine waters. To this end, there will be a navigation cruise lasting about 50 hours, which will count towards the required experience. Additionally, our base will provide the necessary practical training. Throughout the entire training, full knowledge required for the state exam is provided in the form of lectures and exercises aimed at organizing theoretical knowledge.

Organizational Information

  • the training lasts from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM;

  • maneuvers conducted in the Southern Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Gdańsk, on yachtsBavaria 34, SunOdyssey 40.3specially adapted for training;

  • accommodation is organized by the participants on their own (possibility of overnight stay on the yacht);

  • the theoretical training is conducted in the lecture hall of the Municipal Center for Culture, Sports and Recreation in Puck;

  • immediately after the training, an exam is conducted;

  • the training organizer reserves the right to cancel the cruise in case of difficult hydrometeorological conditions.

Fees

  • 50% of the course price, the remaining amount no later than 7 days before the course starts;

  • exam fee: 350 PLN;

For students and pupils up to 26 years old, 50% discount on the exam fee and issuance of the certificate.

Exam

  • knowledge test, navigation task (75 multiple choice questions, 120 minutes) and maneuvering;

  • a yacht master license can be obtained by a person who has completed 18 years of age, has undergone a 200-hour internship on at least two voyages in marine waters, and has passed the exam on the required knowledge and skills.

Permissions

  • operating sailing yachts on inland waters;

  • operating sailing yachts up to 18 meters in length on sea waters.

Practical training

  • navigational cruise with departure to open sea (approx. 50h):

    • practical navigation using terrestrial and celestial methods

    • trip planning, including entry to another port

    • recognition of navigational lights

  • preparation for independent yacht handling;

  • sailing maneuvers;

  • maneuvers with a sailing yacht under engine;

  • crew management and working as a crew member;

  • deckhand tasks.

Theoretical training

  • construction and operation of yachts;

  • sailing theory;

  • rescue;

  • signaling and communication;

  • navigation;

  • marine location;

  • meteorology;

  • right of way on marine and inland waterways;
